I can still remember the first real piece of advice I ever received in regards to my writing career.  It is a solid bit of wisdom that has been proven true for writers across the world:
    “Write what you know.”
The reason I remember it so prominently, is because of the follow up advice that came with it:
    “You never know enough.”
Since that day, I have worked hard to always be learning, ever reaching for a better understanding of the worlds around me.  That broad and aimless search for information has led me to many wonderful destinations, and I am forever grateful.
If I can craft a story from one of them, every now and then...
    So much the better.

Not long after we decided to expand our family to include a dog, we discovered a simple fact of life.  The dog owns the house.  His ability to be at ease and comfortable practically everywhere has become a great source of inspiration for me  Whether I am enjoying the sunshine of my hometown of Tampa, Florida, or braving the frozen winters in my new home of Rochester, New York, I am at peace.  Thanks, Rocko!
