I can still remember the first real piece of advice I ever received in regards to my writing career. It is a solid bit of wisdom that has been proven true for writers across the world:
“Write what you know.”
The reason I remember it so prominently, is because of the follow up advice that came with it:
“You never know enough.”
Since that day, I have worked hard to always be learning, ever reaching for a better understanding of the worlds around me. That broad and aimless search for information has led me to many wonderful destinations, and I am forever grateful.
If I can craft a story from one of them, every now and then...
So much the better.
